Prologue:
With his raw talent and spirited creativity DJ Steve Richards is rapidly making his mark in the dance music industry. His vivacious sets have caused dance floor carnage in many corners of the world which his edgy remixes can be found on many charts.
Born n bred in London and exposed to music from an early age, Steve’s sound has developed and evolved over the years to encompass all styles of House. His talent derives from mastering the art of mixing from the early age of 15, it is these skills that have taken him from london to his first international residency in Cyprus and on to tour the globe.
Not one to be stuck behind the decks, Steve is also involved in event promotion in which he has also expierenced similar high levels of success. Since 2000 Steve has built up many club brands including 'Funkylicious', 'Funky4love' and more recently 'Another Wild Night', some have featured at some of the worlds top venues including Ministry of Sound London, Pacha, Turnmills, The Castle Club, Babylon Superclub to name a few also securing top level international artists to-boot.
By 2007 his reputation has established Richard’s in the very enviable position of running all marketing and promotions for the largest club in Cyprus, the Castle Club, alongside his 4-year DJ residency at the same venue. Both ‘Funky4love’ and ‘Another Wild Night’ have featured at the club and regularly draw in 1000+ people per event throughout summer season, making them the most popular events on the island. With the Steve Richard’s name starting to span the globe, leading DJ equipment manufacturer Pioneer, has been quick to sit up and take notice, and is now sponsoring Richard’s events as his career begins to take-off.
Steve is now stepping into the competitive world of music production, forming the musical partnership ‘Elektrik Disko’ with New Zealand-born Jolyon Petch. Remix work has already been completed for several big names including Agnelli & Nelson and the Soul Avengerz with releases on Deep Blue and Soda Records, while collaborations with other well-known artists such as Katherine Ellis, Peyton & Maxi C are also under way.
As expected 2009 is kicking off with one heck of a bang and looks set to be Richards most successful year to date, not only has was Another Wild Night given a bi-monthly residency at London's Ministry of Sound, Steve was also handed the reigns to manage all events and promotions for the latest Superclub to hit the coast of Cyprus, Babylon. Steve has continued to manage and serve as resident DJ for Babylon's sister venue The Castle Club, but also drafted in the likes Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Mark Knight, Sander Kleinenberg, Nic Fanciulli, Mauro Picotto, Marco V, Tall Paul and more now boasting the biggest ever summer line up in the history of Cyprus!
On the production front things are equally as exciting for this prosperous new year, with a brand new release out on Soda records (If you want my Love feat Max C), that hit No.1 on the DJDownload Top 100 in it's first week, also hitting No. 4 on Soda Records all time best sellers so far, there is much anticipation as to what's coming out next.
From the DJ booth to the recording studio, event promotions and beyond, Richard’s energetic style, consummate professionalism and friendly nature have secured him an ever-growing presence on the world’s electronic music map.
His winter calendar is nearing capacity with bookings across Sweden, Dubai, Lebanon, Finland, Lithuania, Moscow and of course the UK, all hotting up for a blistering end of season extravaganze in Ayia Napa.
